OXO Tower Virtual Venue Tour

A groundbreaking virtual experience enables London’s iconic Oxo Tower to attract global customers

We collaborated with OXO2 owners, Camm & Hooper, to create a virtual brochure that set a new standard for marketing and showcasing event spaces. Boasting an incredible Thameside location in an iconic art deco building, the innovative virtual tour sets OXO2 apart from the competition by using 360 video, interactive features and dynamic room information to tell a story that leaves an impression.

Virtual tours can sometimes be simple, dull and formulaic. A series of static 360 images stitched together to be clicked through. Functional? Yes. Effective? Often. Engaging? No.

But what about using tech to elevate the experience? To give event planners a true idea of what their event could look like against the stunning London skyline? To do something that wouldn’t be realistic in real life? And to make the space accessible to anybody around the world?

That’s exactly what we did.

Guests can take a guided tour through the venue that highlights its size and scale, with a sales rep who gives them the same narrative and attention they’d get in person. Fly through videos between each space demonstrate how the space flows and connects. Every room can be toggled through day and night, and viewed both empty and in ‘event mode’, with extra information, images and floorplans included in the launcher bar.

It’s a virtual tour, but with more.

Camm & Hooper needed a virtual tour that really showcased OXO2. There are many incredible event spaces in London, so they had to break from the crowd and appeal to a range of event organisers. Corporate events have different needs from private parties or riverside weddings, so demonstrating the flexibility of the venue was essential.

We knew we could use tech to solve real-world problems.

Showing the empty room allows creative event planners to see the blank canvas for their ideas. The space they can make their own. But toggling through day and night gives a real-world example of what it looks like in practice. In the daytime, you get tons of natural light and views over the Thames. At night, it comes to life. The space is dressed. Furniture, lighting, and decorations are in place, and London’s skyline provides the perfect backdrop.

Unlike an in-person venue tour, the user has different options at their fingertips to allow them to imagine their event. The addition of the launcher bar provides even more information and functions as a sales and conversion tool, with CTAs, location info and floorplans.

We shot on a cold, snowy day in the capital. We love London, and it’s our home, but winter can bring challenges. Between capturing high-resolution 360 images of the venue space, we had to get the brooms out to clear the snow. We also filmed the presenter separately to add in post-production, so we needed a big coat on hand to keep her warm between takes!

Such an iconic space is in demand from people all over the country, and indeed the world. Innovative tech allows Camm & Hooper to offer more than just in-person or virtual tours, and the final result has brought OXO2 to life for anyone looking for a truly unique and unforgettable venue for their event.

We’ve kept the human touch and unique feel, but supplemented it with digital assets that sell the space. It’s greater than the sum of its parts and has become an effective digital brochure and sales tool for the team.
